History
Elvi was originally a Dutch wholesale company with a size range from 8-20. The owner was a man called Elin Vissor and thus the name Elvi was devised. The brand, created in the 1940s, had a long history as a wholesale brand based in Holland and wholesaled through Europe - mainly in Holland, Germany, Belgium and France. In 1993 Elvi was bought by a company called Lerose Limited, who were in turn bought out by Country Casuals (CC).
CC felt that an opportunity existed to establish a brand for size 16 and up in the UK, both in High Street shops and department store concessions.
Leveraging its strengths in producing and sourcing collections for size 16 and up, Elvi was launched into the UK in autumn 1993 as a quality retailer specialising in size 16 and up clothes for women.
Elvi is owned by private investors who have extensive experience in retail and womenswear.
